02. Option levels. Basic trading strategy

Postby someBody » Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:42 pm

I will not explain option theory and what are options, similar information is quite lot on different internet resources. I can recommend several articles from fxequity.ru, but they are on russian. Based on that site there were created MT4 indicator on fxvolume.ru , but as soon as it become paid one, people asked me to create similar free indicator. I will repeat what I said several times already - I can not explain methodology how levels are calculated, it is not mine. I can not guarantee it is correct one, if such word even exist on forex, but I call it - mine interpretation of levels.

Option indicator do analyse trade with currency options for previous trading session on CME, and it try to define support and resistance of current day.

The main result of indicator is Key Zone (A on screenshot) - the balance level between large market operators, this is zone where main battle will be played between bears and bulls, and usually it's not easy to brake that zone. If day was opened above Key Zone than current day considered as bullish day, and we supp ose that price will rebound up from Key Zone. And vice-versa - if day was opened below Key Zone than current day is considered as bearish day, and we suppose that price will rebound down from Key Zone.

The first levels right after Key Zone (D on screenshot - major levels) are approximate Stop Loss levels, or levels for aggressive trading - if price broke Key Zone than major levels is level where to open position in direction back to Key Zone.

Levels Call (C on screenshot) and Put (D on screenshot) are approximate targets for long/short positions, this are levels where we should fix our profit - Take Profit levels.

Yesterdays japanese yen example.

This is base classic method to trade option levels, the other methods will be described in next articles.

Would it be too much to add the daily VWAP line?

Hi Somebody,

I wonder if you remember me ? :)

Anyways, congratulations on your new development regarding the options levels indicator (Y)

You have done an amazing job, keep up the good work...it's truly appreciated !

I have a question:

I understand that you don't know how the levels are calculated. I would like to know if this indicator gives the same levels like the options indicator from fxvolume.ru ?

thanks.

Hi, nice to meet you again! :)

I know how option levels are calculated, but I can not open that information. And yes, we were trying to get them as much closer to fxvolume as possible ;)

You will not find the necessary data on CME, however all calculations are based on that reports (example EURUSD), however the formulas are really complicated ;) : http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/fx/g10/ ... tions.html

Good luck

I am doing well, thanks.

Found perfect system, absolutely no loss at all. Just do not trade :D
Maybe in future I will return to trading, but currently I can not spend a time with it, unfortunately
